Dublin, Ireland - Third time is a charm, the annual fashion mix “From Africa With Love Dublin” is back! The social event takes place on Saturday, 31St May 2014 at the Gresham Hotel, O’Connell Street, Dublin 1; drink reception starts at 6pm.
Social Entrepreneur Ademola commented “Africa is rich in culture, resources and heritage. It is our conviction that we must embrace our uniqueness; when we are embraced, together we can contribute positivity to the world and our community. The African-Irish connection is very important to us, as many of us are professionally trained in Irish colleges and universities, to this end, FAWL seeks to nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship and elevate migrants and citizens alike, together as one we are stronger”.
The event sees for the very first time The Irish Fashion Diversity Award, this will be presented to Claire Garvey. The event Founder and Curator, Tolu Omoyele asserts “Claire Garvey will be honoured for her contribution towards the growth and inclusion of diversity within the Irish Fashion Industry. The Irish designer is the most charming, decent and approachable woman I have ever met and she works in Fashion too!! A rare combination, she deserves this respect, she is a trendsetter and mentor for emerging fashion designers”.
From African With Love Dublin seeks to boost positive self-image, bring smiles, and make a significant contribution to the growth of the society we call home Dublin, Ireland. The event will celebrate the very best of established and emerging Irish fashion industry talents. Hosted by Mr. Ireland (2009)/Mr. World Kamal Ibrahim (2010), and Vanessa Scout; activities planned for this spectacular evening is a Fashion Show featuring the creative endeavours of designers of African descent including Akani Collection, Mullalo, Oreke Signature, Maiya, Tola Vintage and Simply Glamorous Fashion.
The event also features the DIY Budget Management guru Tokie Laotan-Browne as she launches her first book.
